I am an environmental anthropologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who specializes in resource conflicts, environmental justice, and the arts, specifically as they intersect with localized experiences of climate change.
My most recent research focuses on traditional Tlingit and Haida arts involving red and yellow cedar in Southeast Alaska, examining contemporary practices of harvesting and artmaking in the context of the logging industry and climate change.
My pedagogy is rooted in immersive and experiential learning, project-based learning, and inclusive mentorship.
